SCIATIC NERVE PAIN RELIEF Sciatic nerve pain is very common in people who suffer from back pain. Essentially, the vertebrae in the lower back start pinching the delicate sciatic nerve, which runs from the low back all the way down the back of the leg. So, when the nerve gets pinched, you may feel a dull or shooting back down your leg.
It can be utterly brutal and constant. You may feel it when sitting down and/or standing and only get relief by laying down. Sciatic pain is one of the most debilitating forms of low back pain, because it makes it very difficult to live a normal life. It is almost impossible to sit anywhere for any period of time. Now, there is a lot of bad information out there that makes what to do next very confusing. We take a very common sense approach. The reality is that you don't have to live the rest of your life with sciatic nerve pain. There is relief and a natural way to do it that does not require drugs or surgery. But, first let us explain what is the real underlying cause of sciatic nerve pain, so you can get to work eliminating it. You see, sciatic nerve pain is caused by bad posture. Essentially, the low back natural curve disappears and you have this flat back. That flat back is what forces the vertebrae to sit on the sciatic nerve. To get the vertebrae off the nerve, you need to create space. That space is created by making sure you have a nice little curve in your lower back.
Take a look at the picture on the left. You see how there is a nice little curve in the lower back. Now, take a look at the picture on the right. See how the butt is tucked underneath the back? That flatness in the lower back is what causes sciatic nerve pain. If you can restore yourself back to a healthy posture, the sciatic nerve pain will simply disappear, because the vertebrae will have space and stop pinching the nerve.
So, how do you do that? First of all, you should be aware that you may stand like this. Stand up and take a look at your posture in the mirror. Do you see your butt tucking under like this? It may be possible that you have a more lordotic posture and your butt sticks out too far and you have what we call 'hollow back', which means you have too much of a curve. But, just take a look and see what kind of posture you have at the moment.
Whatever it is, we can guarantee you that you have some kind of postural distortion and for the time being, we will assume it is the flat back (kyphotic) type. Okay, so imagine that your hips have a bucket filled with water sitting on them. You see how the water would be spilling out the back? We want you to attempt to straighten out your hips. In other words, stick your butt out behind you a little bit and let your hips tilt a little bit more forward.
This will most likely feel very awkward since you have gotten so used to something else and because certain muscles are very weak while others are very tight. And these muscle imbalances are keeping you locked in this poor position that is causing the sciatic nerve pain. What we always suggest as a great start is to make sure you sit as little as possible. And when you do have to sit, make sure you sit in comfortable chairs and sit up as straight as possible. Make sure your back is not in a twisted position and also make sure you stand up every 20-30 minutes and stretch out, so your muscle imbalances don't get any worse.
But, most importantly, you need to follow a very specific exercise and stretching program to start releasing the tension in this area and take the pressure off the sciatic nerve. Once you release some of the tightness in some of your muscles, it will help the back regain its natural curve without you trying to force it all the time. Obviously, you cannot be aware of your posture all the time, so it needs to become natural to you. It is a combination of awareness on your part and a good exercise program to get your muscles back into balance. Once you do this, you will see the natural curve come back and the sciatic pain will simply disappear. We strongly recommend that you use the S.M.S. Low Back Pain Program to help you fix your posture, strengthen your back and get out of sciatic nerve pain. It was designed to work quickly and effectively and we guarantee you will get results.
